How to Buy US Open Tennis

The US OPEN (United States Open Tennis Championships) is a hard-court tennis tournament which is the modern version of one of the oldest tennis championships in the world, the U.S. National Championship.

The US Tennis Open is the 4th and final tennis major Gran Slam tournament each year. The others can be seen here including the French, Wimbledon and Australian. This 2 week period takes place in Flushing Meadows New York City.

Official Tickets

This is the most effective way to get the tickets you want at the face-value price. The organisers USTA are non-profit and therefore all revenue from tickets goes into the grass roots of tennis around the US. Ticket Plans if they are on sale can be purchased directly here

Ground Pass Tickets

I would fully recommend that you purchase these general grounds admission pass for the first week, these are much cheaper and allows you to see matches across the different areas of the tournament.

Scalpers Outside

The selling of tickets outside Flushing Meadows US Open is not illegal like other Grand Slam tournaments. However local ‘Scalpers’ who sell the tickets are required to be over 1500 meters away from the entrance to the grounds.

Scalping Rules US Open

Tickets normally sell out every year for the general admission passes and tickets to see the big games including the Mens, Semis and Final.

I would not personally recommend spending 1000’s of dollars on tickets to a stranger in the street but I would recommend these guys for the general passes.

Depending on the weather on the day affects the price of tickets considerably, on a warm summers day in New York expect prices to be around $250 for the full day.
